Longboat Key

The island of Longboat Key is a barrier island 10 miles in length across the bay from the city of Sarasota.  It enjoys a year round population of 6800 and grows during the winter months to 25,000.  Residents feel it is paradise found and visitors have rated it in the top 10 vacation islands in the USA with its white sandy beaches and azure water of the Gulf of Mexico.  It is one of the only islands with 45 holes of championship golf.
